CERT-In, or Computer Emergency Response Team, has issued new “high” severity warnings for several versions of the Android operating system, including the latest version, Android 14. According to government reports, multiple vulnerabilities have been identified in the Android OS. This can compromise the security of your device and allow hackers and attackers to access your device and sensitive data.
Frameworks, systems, Arm components, MediaTek components, Unisoc components, Qualcomm components, and Qualcomm closed source components appear to have some kind of flaw. It causes security and safety issues in the Android operating system, allowing attackers to obtain sensitive information, gain elevated privileges, and execute arbitrary code on the targeted system.
Affected Android versions and devices
According to the report, these vulnerabilities were found in Android 11, Android 12, Android 12L, Android 13, and the latest version of the operating system, Android 14. This means that devices (smartphones and tablets) running these operating systems are affected by these vulnerabilities.
What users can do
CERT-In recommends that users apply appropriate updates from each OEM as they become available. Simply put, whenever the latest update is available, you should download and install it on your phone.
