LAS VEGAS – At 50 years old, Terrell Owens appears to be healthy enough to play in the NFL.
The Hall of Fame receiver said there was no doubt about it.
“It all depends on my own conditioning,” Owens told USA TODAY Sports on Saturday. “I was able to take care of my body.
“If you think about the playoffs, a lot of games are won on third down and obvious red zone situations. Can I go play 70 snaps right now? Absolutely not. But if I… He would be a strong option on the team, that’s for sure.”
He played for the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, and Cincinnati Bengals, recording 15,934 receiving yards and 153 receiving touchdowns on 1,078 catches. He last caught in the NFL in 2010, and he blames the league for not catching in the NFL since then.

“They blackball you and don’t put your name in the good graces of many organizations,” he said.
Owens has in the past compared his situation to former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who protested during the national anthem throughout the 2017 season and never played in the league again.
On Saturday, Owens only mentioned his NFL Hall of Fame induction process. He was not voted on until 2018, his third year of eligibility.
“And since 2018, I’ve seen guys who don’t have stats as good as me come out in the first go-around,” said Owens, who turned 50 in December. “That speaks for itself.”
Owens also made an eloquent speech at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he played from 1992 to 1995, skipping the commencement ceremony in Canton, Ohio.
According to published reports, Owens played in fan-controlled football, a 7-on-7 indoor league, in 2022 and scored at least two touchdowns.
Fan Controlled Football has canceled its 2023 season.
