WORTHINGTON — JBS USA has been named 2023 Processor of the Year by Food Processing magazine. This is the 19th time the magazine has won such an award.
“JBS USA has always been a company that believes our team members are our greatest strength, and this honor is only possible because of their hard work,” said Thomas Hanson, general manager of JBS Worthington. “Our amazing team works to feed the world every day, and we are proud to celebrate this accomplishment and be a major employer in this community.”
JBS operations in Worthington employ more than 2,100 people, and more than 67,000 people work for JBS USA nationwide.
Food Processing says in the magazine: Community college tuition is paid to all employees and their children nationwide. JBS has partnered with state and local governments and non-governmental organizations to add approximately 1,500 new housing units to the communities in which it operates. The company has also worked with local child care providers, Boys & Girls Clubs and YMCAs to expand facilities to offer slots to families of JBS workers. ”
Through the JBS Hometown Strong program, the company invested $1 million to help build a community field house and recreation center in Worthington.
