Google may soon rebrand its AI-powered generative chatbot Bard as Gemini. The tech giant has been continuously adding new features to his AI chatbot powered by Gemini over the past few months, with a recent update adding image generation capabilities.
This information is from a recent post by an Android app developer. Dylan Roussel The statement on X (formerly Twitter) is backed up by an earlier report from 9to5Google that suggests Google Bard will soon be renamed Gemini. The allegedly leaked photo shows a changelog dated February 7, 2024, hinting at a name change and providing insight into upcoming features.
As seen in the image in the post, there may also be an “Advanced” tier powered by Gemini Ultra. This is the company’s most advanced large-scale language model to date, potentially surpassing even ChatGPT Plus and OpenAI’s GPT-4, which powers Microsoft. Co-pilot.
Google has added a new changelog for Bard. And that’s a big change.
Availability in Canada is great! However, I am not sure about the limitations of the app. As someone who lives in Europe, I’m disappointed.

The changelog indicates that Gemini Advanced will be locked behind a paywall. Google claims that its most powerful large-scale language models can “perform complex tasks such as logical reasoning, coding, following subtle instructions, and creative collaboration.” The company also appears to be updating Gemini Ultra’s capabilities in the “coming months” to improve its ability to deeply analyze files, data, documents, and more.
However, the most interesting thing is the launch of the Gemini app for Android devices. Google says the new app “uses Google AI on your phone to help you learn in new ways, write thank-you notes, plan events, and more.” Gemini appears to integrate with various Google services, including Gmail, Maps, and YouTube. Android has a new dedicated app, but iOS users may need to use the Google app to try out Gemini.
