World Youth Foundation celebrates National Mentoring Month

houston – The World Youth Foundation held a special celebration at the end of National Mentoring Month to highlight how important it is to build and maintain relationships throughout your professional and personal career.

According to WYF’s website, WYF “provides underserved and underrepresented minority youth ages 6 to 24 with free out-of-school programs and community-wide events.” “We are offering participation in this.”

Additionally, the organization provides young people with opportunities for personal and professional growth. Their mission is to “enable all young people to triumph in life despite all adversity.”

We also send dozens of students from the Houston area to Washington, D.C., giving them the opportunity to interact with some of our nation’s top decision makers.

WYF CEO Karen Franklin and her team organized the event, which was held on Davis Street in Midtown.

KPRC 2’s Moriah Ballard hosted the event.

Elected officials, community leaders, and students who have been positively impacted by the program attended the event.

Also in attendance were Mayor Pro Tem Martha Castex Tatum, Houston Independent School District President Dr. Dana Carmouche, and Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, who called in to speak.

Parents whose students participate in the program addressed the crowd and shared how essential WYF is to their child’s development.
