Blizzard has announced that the next update for World of Warcraft: Classic, which reintroduces the intense Cataclysm expansion, will arrive on May 20th.
Officially, Classic is set to get excited with a pre-patch event shortly before that on April 30th. His Cataclysm pre-patch at the time was also an outrageous change. Playable worgen and goblins were introduced, the dragon Deathwing was unleashed on Azeroth, and Deathwing’s escape changed the entire landscape of Azeroth’s main continent.
The full expansion on May 20th includes 7 new (to classic) zones, 9 new dungeons, 3 new raid dungeons, and the Archeologu profession. Flight is introduced to Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. Additionally, as the landscape of the major continents changes, many new quests will be introduced, while old quests will disappear forever. This is a pretty drastic change from how the map currently looks. The barren land splits in half, the Thousand Needles sinks underwater, and part of the Darkshore coastline is washed away.
Deathwing also flies around and can randomly set entire zones ablaze. nice!
WOW Classic begins
All of these, with very few exceptions, reflect changes to World of Warcraft that were first introduced in 2010 when Cataclysm was first released. When Classic was first released, Blizzard’s goal was to give players the opportunity to experience World of Warcraft the same way it was when it was first released, rather than being forced to crowd into player-run servers. It was to do.
Experience your favorite cataclysmic moments faster than ever!

But with Cataclysm, the world of Azeroth starts to look more like the current game, with the exception of a few expansion-specific zones. The original World of Warcraft, before all the expansions, is still available as a classic option. Blizzard has also introduced a number of special rules servers to spice up World of Warcraft, including Hard Mode and Discovery Season.
World of Warcraft: Classic is available to anyone with a World of Warcraft subscription. The main Classic servers are currently in the final days of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, with all raids and dungeons available at the time, including Icecrown Citadel.
