Is second time a charm? Remember the Willy Wonka experience in Glasgow, Scotland earlier this year? It’s making a comeback.
Despite the backlash and ridicule, the now-infamous event is back, this time in Los Angeles, California, according to the event page on Eventbrite.
“Yes, this is a real event,” reads the first page of the event page set up by the House of Illuminati LA.
“Prepare to step into the realm of pure imagination as the acclaimed Willy’s Chocolate Experience LA makes its U.S. debut, courtesy of the House of Illuminati LA,” the event description reads. Please,” it says. “Following its breakthrough success in Glasgow, this fantastical event promises an immersive journey into the whimsical world of ‘Willy’ Wonka.”

Organizers say Kirsty Patterson, aka the “sad” Oompa Loompa who has quickly become a meme, will also be attending the April 28 event with an “exclusive absurdist Q&A and fan photo opportunity”. That’s what it means.
Other features of the Glasgow event will also be recreated, including the setting, and the event will be held in a “nondescript warehouse in the heart of downtown Los Angeles.” The exact location has not been determined.
Tickets cost $44 and are non-refundable. However, organizers say proceeds from the event will be donated to an anonymous mental health charity.
In another nod to previous events, attendees will receive two complimentary jelly beans “to whet your sweet tooth.”
Meanwhile, other “attractive attractions” include local music and comedy performances, “immersive” silent film screenings with live music, and local food stalls selling sweet treats. Organizers have also hinted that “famous comedians” may be attending the event, which “promises a night full of laughter and unexpected twists.”
The event will begin on April 28th at 5:30pm for a photo booth and interaction, followed by a Q&A session with Patterson at 6:30pm. At approximately 9:00 p.m., the event will transition to “Willy’s Rave” performed by DJ. It will keep you energized until 4am the next morning. ”
“Get ready to be transported to a realm where your imagination knows no limits and every moment is full of surprises,” the event page adds.
Willy Wonka’s experience in Glasgow was called a “disastrous failure”
Earlier this year in February, a Willy Wonka-themed event was held in Scotland, with ticket buyers finding themselves in a sparsely decorated warehouse after going to an event billed as “a place where dreams come true.” The Willy Wonka themed event became a hot topic. A green wig – obviously an Oompa Loompa – and the actor playing Willy Wonka, who looked more like an Oompa Loompa than Wonka.
The participants, many of whom were children, were furious and upset when the organizers, a British event company called House of Illuminati, demanded refunds. Police also appeared at the event to calm the irate crowd and cancel the event, which had promised a chocolate fountain, an Oompa Loompa performance and a “festival of chocolate in all its joyous forms.”
Stuart Sinclair, one of the participants who attended the event with his children, called the event a “total scam” and said the children received “two jelly babies and four minutes of bar limeade”. He said there was only one can. The whole experience took her only 2 minutes. One of the actors at the event called it a “disaster” and said he and the other actors were “furious.”
“We’ve been fooled, too, and at one point it got pretty scary because people were angry,” he said.
The company that organized the event later apologized for the event and released the following statement: “Unfortunately, at the last minute we were disappointed in many areas of the event and although we did our best to continue pushing through, we now realize that we probably should have canceled.” in turn. ”
