In addition to the extended hours and robust programming lineup, this evening it was announced that the scientist working with the Arizona Science Center on the livestream will be Mattie Rodrigue, Director of Scientific Programs for OceanX and a Chandler native who earned her bachelor’s degree in conservation biology and ecology from Arizona State University.
The ocean is one of the most mysterious and fascinating places, and scientists from all over the world have been studying it for centuries.
As a result, the Arizona Science Center will be extending its hours on Thursday, June 27 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. OceanX Exploration: Unlocking the Deep Ocean. They will broadcast live from the Ocean Explorer, the world’s most advanced exploration, research and media vessel, which is currently submerged in Indonesia’s deep waters.
This special evening will include an exploration of OceanXperience, an exhibit that recreates the actual OceanXplorer vessel and offers similar activities and experiments as those carried out on board; a livestream learning about ocean exploration, research, discovery and more from onboard scientists; and a fireside chat and Q&A with OceanX CEO Vincent Pieribone.
