Meal preparation is an important part of being vegan, and for Mills, making the right types of food gives her the energy she needs to get through the day. Mills usually takes a moment to look inside her refrigerator and think about what she can eat.
“I like to make teriyaki tofu. It’s like stir-fried tofu with teriyaki sauce. Tofu is like whipped bread. But if you season it properly, it’s delicious,” Mills said.
Molly Gordon, a cooking teacher who has worked as a chef for about eight years, said the process of finding and making vegan food can be difficult. She says even finding a decent vegan restaurant can be difficult due to cross-contamination.
“It depends on the type of restaurant you’re looking for. If you’re a cool vegan restaurant, it’s obviously much easier because you don’t bring in products that might contain animal products. But normally If you’re serving vegan products in a restaurant, you have to make sure there’s no cross-contamination, so you just keep them in a separate environment, separate equipment, separate cooking environment,” Gordon said. .
Protein is very important for the human body to have a healthy diet. However, some proteins are not derived from animal foods or animal byproducts. Vegans often make the mistake of not getting enough protein, which is an important nutrient for the human body. However, there are many creative ways vegans can include protein in their diets.

Ball is an active person in cheerleading. She realized she had to find a source of protein somewhere.
“I said I was a vegetarian, but I only eat seafood and chicken because I needed a source of protein and that was the only meat I really cared about,” Bell said. .
She noticed that because she does cheerleading and is vegan, she couldn’t maintain her energy and it was affecting her performance.
“I didn’t notice much of a difference, but I think my coach did, but I probably had really bad stamina and couldn’t keep up the energy. Now I’m eating pasta and chicken alfredo noodles. “I eat a lot. I eat a lot of frozen chicken nuggets, but mostly I eat turkey slices from the deli, and that’s a really easy snack to get some protein in,” Bell said.
