Usher, 45, is now a married man after the Grammy-winning R&B star and girlfriend Jennifer Goicoechea, 40, officially tied the knot.
The newlyweds said “yes” at the Super Bowl on Sunday, according to Clark County Clerk’s Office records reviewed by USA TODAY on Monday. The couple wed in a Las Vegas wedding just hours after the superstar headlined the Super Bowl halftime show, according to the Associated Press.
Usher and Goicoechea “took the next step in their relationship and married Sunday night in Las Vegas surrounded by their closest friends and family,” Usher’s rep said in a statement to USA TODAY on Tuesday. “We both look forward to continuing to raise our children together, surrounded by love, and are grateful for everyone’s blessings.”
The news comes after a representative from the Clark County Clerk’s Office confirmed to USA TODAY that the couple obtained a marriage license in Las Vegas.
Asher and Goicoechea filed their license application on Thursday, three days before the Super Bowl.

This is Asher’s third marriage and Goicoechea’s first. He was married to stylist Tameka Foster from 2007 to 2009. He married entertainment executive Grace Harry in 2015. They separated in 2018.
Usher has two children with Goicoechea, Sovereign Beau, 3, and Sire Castrello, 2. She also has two children with Foster, Asher “Cinco” V, 16, and Navid Ely, 15.

He has reportedly been in a relationship with the “Confessions” singer Goicoechea since 2019, and described him as his “best friend” in a November interview with People magazine.

Ahead of the Super Bowl, Usher also told People that he and Goicoechea were already “promised to be together for the rest of their lives for the sake of their children,” so they could “marry.”

The news continues a big week for Usher after his performance at Super Bowl LVIII with guests like Alicia Keys and Ludacris. He will release his ninth studio album, Coming Home, on February 9th ahead of the big game, and will embark on his Past Presents Future Tour in August.
“After the last six years of my life’s journey, I feel like I’m back where I started again,” he previously told USA TODAY. “After so many experiences, I am refreshed and more refined.”
