Usher may be falling down the aisle in his personal life, on the brink of a touchdown.
The R&B icon, who headlined the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday night, obtained a marriage license with girlfriend Jennifer Goicoechea in Las Vegas earlier this week, a representative from the Clark County Clerk’s Office said. confirmed this to USA TODAY in an email on Sunday.
The couple applied for the license on Thursday. This is Goicoechea’s first marriage and Asher’s third.
USA TODAY has reached out to Usher’s representatives for comment.
The “Confessions” singer spoke passionately about his relationship with Goicoechea, whom he calls his “best friend,” in an interview with People magazine in November.
“There’s an amazing dynamic between our relationships that allows me to still be passionate about my work and still be able to deal with my kids and deal with the dynamics of my life as a young man. “I have great partners to help me through difficult times to ‘communicate with them,'” Usher told the magazine.
Usher has four children: Usher “Cinco” V (16 years old), Navid Ely (15 years old), Sovereign Beau (3 years old), and Sire Castrello (2 years old). He shares Sire with Goicoechea and Sovereign Bo, and Navid with Usher V with his ex-wife Tameka. Foster.
“She’s a better[communicator]than me in a lot of ways. I’m more of a man, so I’m like, ‘This is what we’re doing,’ and maybe a little more disciplined at times,” Usher said. When talking about their parenting styles, she said, “If there’s a slap and a hug, I’m the slapper and she’s the hugger. But it creates a balance.”
Usher was married to fashion stylist Foster from 2007 to 2009. He also married entertainment executive Grace Harry in 2015, but they later split in 2018.
