On February 9, Greece became the 35th country to sign the Artemis Accords. Foreign Minister Georgios Gerapetritis signed the agreement for Greece during the 5th U.S.-Greece Strategic Dialogue held at the State Department in Washington, DC. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson, and Hellenic Space Center Director Dr. Ioannis Dagris spoke at the signing ceremony, welcoming Greece’s commitment to peaceful, safe, and transparent space exploration and use.

The U.S.-Greece Strategic Dialogue is a key feature of the bilateral relationship and shares common priorities in the areas of regional cooperation, defense and security, trade and investment, energy and the environment, law enforcement and counterterrorism, humanitarian challenges and disaster preparedness. The Artemis Accords were established in 2020 by the United States and seven other countries. They set out a practical set of principles to guide space exploration.
