US company US Forged Rings has unveiled plans for an offshore wind turbine tower manufacturing facility scheduled to open in 2026 and a steel forging plant scheduled to open next year. The company plans to invest $700 million in two new facilities on the U.S. East Coast and said it is in the final stages of site evaluation and a decision is expected soon.

Construction work on the two co-located facilities is expected to take 16 to 20 months once all permits and regulatory approvals are secured, with the first tower expected to be rolled out in early 2026. According to information on USFR’s website, commercial production at this facility is a steel forging plant he plans to be operational by the first quarter of 2027.

“We are currently in the final stages of evaluating several potential locations on the East Coast.” Said Slavko ZlovacManaging Director of USFR. “All proposed sites are strategically located with access to the necessary waterways, rail and public facilities, providing significant logistical benefits and increasing competitiveness in the supply of large components.”

The Delaware-based company will produce 100% U.S.-made end products through strategic supply chain partnerships with U.S. steel producer and recycler Nucor and ingot foundry Elwood Quality Steels. He said he is trying his best.

The tower manufacturing facility has the capacity to produce 100 fully coated towers per year and is designed to be expandable to produce up to 200 towers per year depending on demand. According to the company’s press release, the tower’s production will include in-house flanges, which will ensure USFR avoids potential delays and logistical issues in this regard, reducing overall costs.

The new steel forging facility will produce large flanges up to 40 feet in diameter, making it the largest ring rolling facility in North America and Europe, USFR said. The company says on its website that the forging facility has sufficient capacity to support not only USFR’s tower production, but also onshore and offshore tower production for other tower manufacturers in the United States.

The two new facilities are said to create more than 500 full-time jobs and also limit carbon emissions by using 77 per cent recycled content.

US Forged Rings says its new manufacturing facility will add to its critical supply chain for offshore wind components in the US market, which plans to install 30 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2030 and 110 GW by 2030. This will bridge the gap between the two companies and alleviate bottlenecks in the U.S. market. 2050.

“This significant investment in US offshore wind was driven by our confidence in the medium- to long-term prospects of the US market. The US market is in its early stages of development and requires a reliable local supply chain. I am.” Said Giacomo SozziPresident USFR.

“These facilities will give U.S. developers and OEMs the ability to predict costs and ensure the availability of critical components. Equally important, this investment will help move these huge parts from overseas. This has direct benefits for the environment, including reducing the significant pollution emitted by transport.”
