Android is the world’s most popular mobile phone operating system, and its updates affect billions of people around the world.

Fortunately, Google is focused on improving the user experience by adding new features to its operating system.

At the time of writing, the company has not disclosed the release date of the latest version, Android 15. However, Google has teased a number of features by releasing his Developer Preview 2.

What are the features of Android 15?

1. Partial screen sharing: This allows users to share or record app windows instead of the entire screen.
2. Satellite connection support: The pending OS will allow users to send messages via satellite even in non-emergency situations.
3. Notification cooldown: This feature reduces notification sounds and prevents users from being overwhelmed by too many notification sounds.
4. In-app camera controls: Android 15 will allow developers to add features to their apps to increase camera brightness and adjust flash intensity.
5. Universal keyboard vibration control: The operating system allows users to turn key vibration off or on for all keyboard apps.
6. Sensitive Notice: Android 15 prevents malicious apps from reading one-time passwords. As a result, two-factor authentication remains secure.
7. Bluetooth popup dialog: Users can toggle Bluetooth using the quick settings tile.
8. Aura Cast Focus: Auracast allows your phone to send audio to an unlimited number of receivers, including speakers and earbuds. This Android 15 feature makes it even easier to use.
9. High quality webcam mode: Users can tap the HQ icon to improve the quality of their webcam.
10. Health Connect: This is a fitness app that provides various health data.

The next OS version will similarly feature loudness control, HDR headroom, and additional controls for foldable phones.

According to Android Authority, Google has codenamed its operating system Dessert, and Android 15 is the equivalent of vanilla ice cream. According to Digital Trends, Android 15 could be released in the second half of 2024.
