The United Kingdom and the United States (Monday 1 April 2024) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to work together to develop cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) model testing, following commitments made at the last AI Safety Summit. November.
The partnership, signed by Secretary of Technology Michelle Donnellan and Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, will see the two countries align their scientific approaches and work closely together to quickly and quickly develop a robust evaluation suite of AI models, systems, and agents. The UK and US AI Safety Associations have set out plans to build a common approach to AI safety testing and share capabilities to ensure these risks can be effectively addressed.
