According to code hidden within the app, it appears that Uber is planning to offer mini-games that can be played within the iPhone app.
MacRumors Contributor Aaron Peris found some mention of the ability to load games in the latest version of the Uber app, released on Monday: One line of code says that the gaming feature requires an internet connection.
It’s unclear when Uber plans to make the mini-games available to the public, and there’s no guarantee the feature will be released at all. At this time, there are no details available beyond the new lines of code that have been added to the app, so it’s not clear whether the games will be free or require in-app purchases.
By offering games on its iPhone app, Uber is giving riders a convenient way to have fun while they’re riding. Uber is following in the footsteps of YouTube, which added a number of lightweight games to its iPhone app last month.
