Two Florida Atlantic University School of Business professors have been named Fulbright U.S. Scholars to study tourism and family businesses.
Two Florida Atlantic University School of Business professors have been named Fulbright U.S. Scholars to study tourism and family businesses.
Dr. Roland Kidwell, DeSantis Distinguished Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship, and Dr. Anil Bilgihan, Associate Professor, have been named Fulbright Scholars for the 2023-24 academic year.
“The Fulbright Scholars Program helps us connect with universities and individuals in other countries and learn about what they do and how they do it. It also helps us connect with universities and individuals in other countries and learn about what they do and how they do it. You can also present your research,” Kidwell said.
Mr Kidwell’s research with Hasselt University in Belgium focused on the impact of deviance and dysfunction on family firms and how family development can influence the level of negative behavior in family firms. He is compiling more than 10 years of case studies for a book to be published this year. .
Professor Bilgihan is collaborating with the University of La Laguna during the spring semester to research sustainable tourism development in Tenerife, the largest island of the Canary Islands. This is because the island currently lacks the proper infrastructure to handle the influx of tourists each year.
“This project is looking at various technology integrations and we are exploring ways to make this happen,” Bilgihan said.
Other Fulbright alumni in FAU’s College of Business include Dr. Siri Tergesen, professor and associate dean; Dr. P. Sergius Koch, Professor of Marketing. and accounting lecturer Dr. Georgi Sumatrakarev.
Founded in 1946, Fulbright is an international educational and cultural exchange program of the United States government. Since its inception, more than 390,000 students, scholars and teachers have had the opportunity to exchange ideas, find solutions to international problems and conduct research.
“We are pleased to announce that two additional members of our School of Business faculty have become Fulbright Scholars,” said Dr. Daniel Gropper, dean of FAU’s School of Business. “Dr. Kidwell and Bilgehan are internationally recognized for their research and we are proud of their accomplishments.”
