The Justice Department announced Thursday its decision not to file criminal charges against President Joe Biden over his handling of classified documents. However, the decision drew harsh criticism from President Donald Trump’s press secretary, Alina Haba.

In an interview with Sean Hannity on “Fox News,” Haba expressed his disdain for the decision, accusing it of double standards in the judicial system. He argued that if Biden can handle classified documents without facing serious consequences, there should be consistent law enforcement against the former president.

Haba, 39, pointed to what she perceives as the disparate treatment between Republicans and Democrats in the justice system. She noted the intense scrutiny President Trump is under over classified documents seized from Mar-a-Lago and contrasted it with the lack of charges against Biden.

“One of the things we learned from the special counsel today, Sean, is that there are actually, not that we didn’t know, there are two systems of justice. One is if you’re a Republican; The other thing is if you’re a Republican. I’m a Democrat,” Haba said.

Trump has maintained his innocence and repeatedly asserted his right to do with the documents as he sees fit. The National Archives has repeatedly attempted to retrieve records from President Trump’s property without success. The situation further escalated to the point where the FBI obtained a search warrant to search the Florida property.

By contrast, Mr. Biden’s lawyers alerted the National Archives when they discovered material in his possession, setting a different tone for the handling of classified documents between the two administrations.

Who is Alina Haba?

Alina Haba, a 39-year-old lawyer, is representing the former president after a federal jury in New York found the Republican front-runner liable in a civil sexual abuse and defamation lawsuit filed by author E. Jean Carroll. Served.

Despite Haba’s efforts, a jury on January 26 found advice columnist E. Jean Carroll that President Trump defamed her when he denied allegations of sexual assault in 2019. “People must pay a high price for these wrongful convictions,” he said, ruling that he must pay a staggering $83.3 million in damages. ”

Haba, who repeatedly clashed with the judge during the trial and was threatened with jail time for contempt, said President Trump would “immediately appeal” the ruling.

“We were stripped of any defense before we went in there,” Haba told reporters. “I’m proud to stand with President Trump because he showed up, stood up, took the witness stand, and made this trial a reality.” “It’s because I confronted a government official.” outside the courthouse.
