Former President Donald J. Trump’s heavy reliance on Republican mega-donors in March came as his campaign and Republicans sought to close the fiscal gap with President Biden, according to a new federal filing Monday. This was revealed in documents submitted to the government.

Still, Republicans are lagging behind. The campaign said Biden and the Democratic Party had collectively raised more than $187 million in the first three months of this year, including $90 million in March, leaving them with $100 million in cash at the end of the month.
