Housing company Lifestyle Communities has raised more than $150,000 for the Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation at its annual fundraising event ‘Tour de Lifestyle’.

The initiative was launched by Inspirational Lifestyle Deanside homeowner Paul Walton and is supported by homeowners and sponsorship partners from 20 lifestyle communities.

Lifestyle Communities matched every dollar donated by homeowners, staff, and sponsorship partners.

Building on the success of last year’s tour, this year there will be a broader focus on promoting inclusion and encouraging greater participation across each lifestyle community with the introduction of the ‘Walk, Talk, Ride’ theme. I was guessed.

The tour started at Lifestyle Shepparton, stopping at 20 lifestyle communities along the way before finishing at Lifestyle Deanside, home of the tour’s lead rider Mr Walton.

The 600-kilometre journey was complemented by community walks, inspirational talks and fundraising events planned to coincide with his arrival in each community.

As a former member of Victoria Ambulance Service, Tasmania Ambulance Service and Melbourne Fire Brigade, Mr Walton said some of the situations he had witnessed and been involved in were difficult and at times heartbreaking. said.

“It was especially work that involved kids,” he said.

“Last year, I received a panic call from my son telling me that his granddaughter’s daughter was having a seizure and the ambulance wouldn’t arrive for an hour.

“Luckily I live just 10 minutes away and was able to transport my granddaughter and son to the Royal Children’s Hospital.

“The initial treatment and the follow-up care were excellent. All people in Victoria, especially children, should be extremely lucky to have such an excellent health system.

“I spent a lot of time at children’s hospitals with patients and their parents, sometimes talking to them for longer than necessary or crying on their shoulders.

“Young children suffering from cancer and other illnesses are at the beginning of their lives, so if we can help give these young children a little boost with the support of the lifestyle community, There’s no reason not to do that.”

James Kelly, founder and managing director of Lifestyle Communities, said his company is pleased to support extraordinary homeowners like Walton in their efforts to make a difference for a greater purpose. he said.

“We are extremely proud to have homeowners like Paul who go to great lengths in the spirit of helping others,” Kelly said.

“The amount of community spirit among the homeowners in the lifestyle communities Paul visited on this ride was amazing.

“So many people took part in Paul’s ride and of course made generous donations and we are very pleased to be able to match the donation on behalf of the business.”

The tour concluded on Thursday 28th March with a final 5km ride between Lifestyle Woodley and Lifestyle Deanside.
