If you’ve ever used your iPhone’s camera timer, you’ve experienced the awkward rush to get into position before the seconds count down, trying to smile at the perfect moment, only to end up disappointed with a completely unusable photo. You know the pain of doing that. Once you get back in front of the camera (trust me, we’ve all been there).

But what if we told you there was a way to take photos with your iPhone using just your voice? Apple’s voice control system is primarily aimed at users with limited mobility. You can use this to open and close apps remotely, for example, or long-press menus remotely. However, voice control can also be customized to work for your own specific needs. In this day and age, there is no need more important than capturing the perfect photo of yourself (right?).

By the way, the tricks I’m about to share with you are pretty redundant if you regularly wear an Apple Watch. That’s because all Apple Watch models also function as remote camera shutters and self-timers, so you can see your framing before you snap. picture. But for everyone else, read our tutorial on how to take photos using only your voice.

First, go to Settings and tap Accessibility. Then select Voice Control and enable Voice Control using the toggle at the top of the screen (depending on the version of iOS your iPhone is running, you may see Voice Control Settings instead). there is). Tap Commands, then tap Create New Command.

Then choose a custom word or phrase to trigger the photo to be taken,[フレーズ]Type in the box (for example, “Photo” or “Snap” will work). Keep in mind that while you’re out and about, you’ll need to say this word or phrase loud enough for your iPhone to hear you. Therefore, we recommend that you do not choose embarrassing words.

Once that’s done, click “Actions” and then “Perform Custom Gesture.” Now recreate the same gesture you use to enable burst mode on your iPhone’s camera (if you want a reminder, hold down the shutter button and swipe left). This is important because you need a custom voice command to trigger the taking of several photos instead of just one (unless you want to experience more of the aforementioned photo annoyance). screen.

Then tap New Command to return to the previous screen and tap Application. Scroll down to Camera and tap it, then return to the previous screen and tap Save.

That’s all. Open the camera app, say the phrase of your choice, and your iPhone will automatically trigger a burst shot. You still only have about a second between saying the phrase and the photo being taken, but at least you have enough time to properly frame yourself in front of the camera.

You also have to consider the challenge of perfectly positioning your iPhone. Unless you’re Anakin Skywalker, no amount of voice commands will make your iPhone levitate.
