Spring is here, and with it comes many exciting cultural events.

“The Birth of the Department Store”, Paris, France

The astonishing architectural wonders of Parisian department stores, along with consumerist trends and the sense of cultural grandeur pioneered by department stores, are celebrated at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in collaboration with the Cité d’Architecture. From David Lynch’s Twin Peaks-esque ‘thinking rooms’ to impressive submerged islands that raise questions about the environmental impact of everyday water use, Milan Design Week (or Milano Salone The Internazionale del Mobile di Milano will be held again on April 16th. April 21, bringing cutting-edge design and creative thinking.

“London Coffee Festival” (UK)

Espresso can’t express how excited I am about the London Coffee Festival, which runs until April 14th at Truman Brewery on Brick Lane in London. We have a lot of coffee made by the world’s best baristas, so be sure to try them out. You’ll also have the opportunity to take part in classes (like learning how to make latte art), tasting sessions, competitions, and attend talks on future industry trends. Basically, there’s more than enough here to ensure a truly enriching weekend.

The Civil War broke out across America.
