There are still months left until the iPhone 16 launches, but that doesn’t mean the rumors will stop. After years of duplicity, the iPhone 16 series seems destined to bring a major shake-up to the lineup, with Apple seemingly opting for a new camera design and a new capture button along a different screen diagonal. Thanks to new images of dummy units, we now have the best idea of what the entire iPhone 16 series will look like.
leaker sonny dixon has shared an image of a possibly dummy unit phone for the upcoming iPhone 16 series.
The dummy units immediately give off an iPhone X vibe, especially with the base iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. Apple appears to be reorienting the camera stack, likely allowing the iPhone 16 to shoot spatial video for Apple Vision Pro (two cameras for 3D stereo recording and accurate depth mapping). (need to be placed side by side). Apple could also shrink the square camera island, but you’ll notice that the sensor is placed outside of the camera island.
Although it’s not immediately obvious, the Pro iPhone is expected to be slightly larger than the standard iPhone in the iPhone 16 series. You can see the hint in these images. The iPhone 16 Pro may have a 6.3-inch display, up from the 6.1-inch display on the iPhone 16, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max may have a 6.9-inch display, up from the 6.7-inch display on the iPhone 16 Plus.
The sides of these dummy phones contain some more information. Apple appears to be extending the action button to all four phones in the iPhone 16 series. All four phones also appear to feature a new capture button below the power button. We also see a thicker camera bump on the Pro iPhone, but the Pro iPhone has better camera hardware, and Apple has been doing that for a while.
