Android users are being urged to immediately delete a Google app that’s stealing passwords and targeting bank accounts.

Zscaler Threat Lab A number of dangerous applications have been discovered that contain dangerous malware that, once installed, allow hackers to access your phone, steal your passwords, access your bank accounts and withdraw money.

The app is available on Google Play Store. Zscaler Threat LabThis resulted in over 5 million app downloads. PDF Scanner and QR Scanner were among the apps recently discovered to have infected over 70,000 Android smartphones.
Google Play Store is full of harmful Android apps disguised as useful programs such as file managers, editors, translators, and more.
These apps use “dropper techniques” to infect devices.
Once downloaded, the app appears safe, but later, via an online upgrade, hackers insert money-stealing malware.
“Recent campaigns by threat actors deploying the Anatsa banking Trojan highlight the risks faced by Android users across multiple regions who download these malicious applications from the Google Play Store,” a Zsclaer spokesperson said.
