The US is foolishly turning its back on Israel – Opinion

April 1, 1979 was declared by Ruhollah Khomeini as “the first day of God’s government in Iran.” Few people know that Khomeini’s Islamic Revolution would never have succeeded without the help of a liberal American president who was intent on overthrowing the Shah of Iran and installing a clergy in the name of human rights. .

I wrote a major book on this subject, Jimmy Carter. Liberal Left and World Chaos, in 2009 after interviewing more than 100 key leaders who were aware of the conspiracy. I met Empress Farah Pahlavi at her home in Georgetown. She read my book and said it was 100% true.

She said that on New Year’s Eve 1977, when Mr. Carter visited with her husband and signed her guest book, Mr. Carter told Shah, “You will release political prisoners.” [and] Provide freedom of the press and freedom of religion. Otherwise, we will not provide replacement parts for your helicopter or airplane. It can do so under a new law that suspends foreign aid on human rights grounds. ”

The Shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, said to the Empress on his departure: Iraq will attack Iran. There will be an Islamic revolution in Iran and Khomeini will take over the country. And no one knows what horrors will befall the Earth. ”

Everything that the Shah predicted came true.

I met with the late French President Valéry Giscard d’Estaing, who told me that President Carter had called for a summit meeting with himself, West German Chancellor Helmut Kohl Schmidt, and British Prime Minister James Callaghan on the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe. Ta. Mr. d’Estaing said Mr. Carter shared plans there to overthrow the Shah and bring Mr. Khomeini to power. He said Carter believed that because Khomeini was a cleric, he would be like Gandhi. he said to Carter in French. “You’re a bastard without a conscience. You betrayed your allies.”

Isser Harel, founder of the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) and former head of Mossad, told me on September 23, 1980 at his home with Menachem Begin, a senior adviser to the prime minister. “When Ronald Reagan laid his hand on the Bible, the hostages were freed.” He added, “The United States has developed a tolerance for terrorism, and the first terrorist attack was in New York City and its tallest building. It will be done,” he said.

When President Reagan placed his hand on the Bible during his inauguration, my phone rang. That’s what Ruben Hecht, Begin’s senior advisor, said. “Harel is a prophet. What he told us is happening.”

It was later discovered that Carter had used former US Secretary of State Cyrus Vance to negotiate the buyback of the hostages through the Algerians. Iran was holding back because it was using it to prevent Carter from being re-elected. At 4:21 on the morning of his inauguration, President Carter wired $7.9 billion from the Federal Reserve to the Bank of England to buy back the hostages.

The Biden administration is doing exactly what President Carter foolishly did 44 years ago, putting tremendous pressure on the State of Israel to agree to a ceasefire and not launch military operations against Hamas in Rafah.

Crossroads between the Biden administration and Israel

If Israel agrees to the Biden administration’s demands, the problem is twofold. First, the war on terror against Iran’s proxy group Hamas will be lost. Second, the hostages will die. A reliable high-level source in Jerusalem told me during a recent visit to Israel that the majority of Israeli hostages are in Rafah.

In exchange for supporting Israel’s efforts to stamp out terrorism and rescue about 130 hostages, the United States abstained from a UN Security Council vote on March 25 calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, and instead supported Israel’s efforts to stamp out terrorism and rescue some 130 hostages. It was passed unanimously without any preconditions for the release of the hostages.

President Joe Biden is more focused on winning elections with the support of progressives and Muslims who hate Israel than on helping Israel win the war against the September 11 attacks.

When U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on March 22, the Israeli leader thanked the Biden administration for five months of support, but removed a battalion from entering Rafah and taking it prisoner. There is no way to defeat Hamas without doing more. The hostages are back. “And I told him that I hope we will do it with the support of the United States, but if we have to, we will do it alone,” the prime minister said.

Witnessing loved ones being raped, burned alive, and decapitated, chanting “from rivers to sea” on American streets and college campuses, and protesting in support of Hamas on college campuses and in society. Imagine the pain of the Israelis who saw the participants. American cityscape. The US is foolishly turning its back on Israel.

Biden should read God’s promise to Abraham in Genesis 12:3: “You will bless those who bless you, and you will curse those who curse you.” Throughout history, those who raised their hands against Israel have been cursed by God. The last thing America needs is to lose God’s blessings.

The author is a Nobel Peace Prize nominee and New York Times bestselling author of 119 books. He is the founder of the Friends of Zion Heritage Center in Jerusalem, the Ten Boom Holocaust Museum in Haarlem, Netherlands, and the Jerusalem Prayer Team, the world’s largest pro-Israel Facebook page.
