What you need to know
- OnePlus has added a third new Android tablet to its portfolio, launching it in China this week.
- Called the OnePlus Pad Pro, the device features a 12.1-inch 144Hz display with a unique 7:5 aspect ratio.
- At the bottom, the tablet houses a large capacity battery that supports 67W fast charging.
The company launched the first OnePlus Pad, then a cheaper “Go” model, before introducing a Pro edition in China called the OnePlus Pad Pro.
It’s designed to be a performance-focused Android tablet powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The design is similar to the first OnePlus Pad, but the new Pro model weighs 584 grams and is 6.49 millimeters thick.
Available in two color variants, Khaki Green and Space Gray, the Pro model features a larger 12.1-inch LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 3000 x 2120 resolution, a unique 7:5 aspect ratio, and a peak brightness of 900 nits.
The appeal of the OnePlus Pad Pro is its large 9510mAh battery that supports the company’s proprietary 67W Super Flash Charge.
The OnePlus Pad Pro comes with a stylus and a Smart Touch keyboard with a PC-level trackpad. Incidentally, OnePlus also published the AnTuTu benchmark rating for the tablet, where the Snapdragon chip recorded a score of 2316067.
The Pad Pro’s camera specs are still unknown, but it will have both front- and rear-facing cameras with modules similar to those seen on the previous OnePlus Pad and Pad Go tablets. Other highlights of this Android tablet include support for 5G, NFC, and ColorOS for Pad out of the box. For audio, the tablet relies on surround sound with six speakers.
The OnePlus Pad Pro will be available in multiple storage models including 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB, and 16GB+512GB, with pre-sale prices of CNY 2799, CNY 2999, CNY 3299, and CNY 3699 respectively. The device will be widely available from July 3rd when official sales begin.
Aiming to be the best Android tablet, the new tablet is currently limited to China but is expected to make its global debut soon, presumably under the same name, OnePlus Pad Pro.
