Taylor Swift set the Swiftie world on fire by announcing her latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” during Sunday’s Grammy Awards ceremony.
“I want to thank my fans,” Swift said while holding a copy of her Grammy-winning pop vocal album. “I’m going to tell you a secret I’ve been keeping from you for the past two years: It’s a brand new album” will be released on April 19th. ”
Swift made the announcement after winning her 13th Grammy Award for “Midnight.” The new album’s artwork is a black-and-white photo of Swift lying in bed. According to Swift’s website, her 11th record will include 16 tracks and a bonus track, “The Manuscript.”
A tweet she sent shortly after her acceptance speech included a photo of a folder opened to reveal a page of Swift’s handwriting.
“And I examine the evidence / My tainted emblem / My muse, worn like a birthmark / My talismans and talismans / Love bombs tick, tick / My inky veins of inky / All is fair in love and poetry. …Sincerely, Chairman of the Tortured Poets Department.”
Hours before the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, Swift’s website “crashed” with the message “Error 321 Failed to retrieve backend.” Error 321 is a communication error that occurs on his fax machine due to a poor phone line connection. There was also a random line “hneriergrd” in bold. Online sleuths cracked it to get the “red herring.” A red herring is “a clue or information that is or is intended to be misleading or distracting.”
This led to researching the coding of websites on the Internet, and one programmer found several words that were translated into words such as “chairman,” “bruise,” “vein,” “rhythm,” “apple cake,” and “talisman.” I noticed that the word is translated in different languages. Love Bomb,” “Muse,” “Ink,” “Evidence,” and “Fake.”
These words correspond to the new album’s aesthetic, which is like a 1950s black-and-white detective drama. As Swift heads to Japan for the first leg of her 2024 Ellas Tour, the internet continues to unravel Easter eggs.
The album will be released while Swift is on vacation.
