Today (March 25), Spotify introduced a new test for UK users that will bring some educational videos to the music streaming service.
In a press release, the company says eligible users will be able to find these videos “alongside their favorite music, podcasts, and audiobooks.” Spotify says its first foray into educational videos, known as “learning courses,” will focus on teaching users how to make music, creativity, business, and life healthier.
To participate, Spotify added, users in the UK will find these courses at home and browse the tabs on their mobile app. More importantly, these courses are not free forever, as the service states that premium and free accounts allow him to watch two lessons at no additional charge.
If you’re using a desktop, you’ll need to visit the official Spotify course page to purchase lessons. Once purchased, the user will be able to watch the video on his mobile device or desktop. Users can see details such as how many lessons Spotify has in a course, how long it will take to complete that course, and provide lesson details.
Spotify says the catalyst behind the learning courses is its partnership with BBC Maestro, PLAYvirtuoso, Skillshare and Thinkific. The company is also interested in helping educational creators grow their audiences. The post said “about half” of premium subscribers have listened to self-help or educational podcasts.
Babar Zafar, Spotify’s vice president of product development, added, “Many of our users regularly use podcasts and audiobooks for their learning needs, and this highly engaged community is growing We believe they are interested in accessing and purchasing quality content from our courses.” Creators. ”
The post states that the learning course will be rolled out on mobile and desktop for users in the UK today (March 25). Unfortunately, Spotify hasn’t said whether people in the US will have access to this test.
