Science & Arts, ranked No. 3 in the NAIA, lost the series to a top-ranked Oklahoma City University team and split four games with Mid-America Christian University before winning the Sooner Athletic Conference Series again. was aiming for. Despite facing Southwestern Christian University in Chickasha, Science & Arts dominated the Eagles as the designated road team on Thursday and Friday.
After allowing just one point in the first three games of the series, Science & Arts outscored SCU 30-7 and earned four important conference wins.
The Drovers won 4-0, 12-0, 7-1, 7-6 over two days.
first game
Sophie Williams’ dominant performance in the circle kept SCU from really threatening what was a pretty close game. Only one Eagle batter reached base in Science & Arts’ 4-0 victory.
Williams won by allowing just one hit and striking out 16 batters.
And the offense did enough to give the Drovers a strong start to the series. The team scored four points with RBI hits from Marea McMurtry, Shaylan Grace, Jaydyn Goucher and Williams.
2nd match
Science & Arts’ offense started in Thursday’s second game. After scoring one run in the top of the first inning and four in the third, the Drovers scored seven runs in the sixth inning for a 12-0 run-rule victory and defeated Hammer.
Long balls contributed to the Drovers’ victory, accounting for five of the team’s 12 points. Sierra Selfridge and Goucher sent the ball over the fence.
Selfridge finished the game with four RBIs and drove in three runs with a home run in the sixth inning. The Drovers added two runs on Goucher’s home run in the third inning.
The winning pitcher was Jaden Anderson, who had four strikeouts in six innings.
3rd game
Science & Arts and SCU were tied 1-1 at the top of Friday’s fifth inning when the Drovers took the lead. The Drovers scored six points in the first inning to secure a 7-1 victory.
Goucher and Teigan Graham each had two RBIs in the win, but all four of those RBIs came in the fifth inning. Williams struck out 10 more batters in seven innings and won again.
4th game
The Drovers fell behind in the final game of the series, but won 7-6 to complete the series sweep.
After falling behind 0-4, SCU scored five runs in the bottom of the second inning to take its first and only lead of the entire series. That lead lasted until the fourth inning, when Selfridge hit a home run and three runs, giving his team a 7-5 lead.
Selfridge had two hits and six RBIs in the win.
Abi Gregory was rated as the winning pitcher after appearing as a reliever. Williams pitched 3.2 innings in relief in the win.

The Drovers are currently 24-7 on the season and 15-5 in conference play.
