Reata, the iconic Fort Worth restaurant known for its country-inspired décor and Texas cuisine, has announced its reopening at 530 Throckmorton Street. The restaurant will close its Sundance Square location and famous rooftop terrace on June 30, 2024, and reopen in July 2024 on the northeast corner of the Tower Building.
The move marks an interim step before Reata establishes a permanent flagship location. Although the environment will change, Reata’s catering service, Reata on the Road, will continue to operate without interruption.
“Reata transcends physical boundaries,” says Mike Micallef, president of Reata, “It’s not just about the location or the décor. We embody the spirit of Fort Worth. Our community defines us. The location may change, but the soul of Reata remains the same — the people.”
Reata’s management team unanimously decided to remain in downtown Fort Worth, a decision influenced by the restaurant’s strong synergies with nearby office towers, the convention center, Bass Performance Hall and local hotels.
“The Tower and our history are storied and strong,” added Micallef, who founded the company after an F3 tornado destroyed his first Fort Worth location in 2000. “Like Fort Worth, Reata is a testament to resilience and renewal, and together we will continue to create unforgettable experiences.”
SADA Tower LLC and SADA Capital Partners LLC purchased The Tower and The Tower Annex buildings in June 2022. Since then, they have secured high-profile tenants, including iconic Fort Worth workwear company Dickies relocating its headquarters there.
