Samsung just launched a new Android tablet, and you probably didn’t know anything about it. That’s because the company quietly released a new version of his Galaxy Tab S6 Lite in Romania, without any announcement events, trailers, press releases, or any other kind of publicity.
The 2024 model of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has been published on Samsung’s Romanian website. We don’t know how much it will cost, or if or when it will be released in other markets, but we do know what the tablet looks like and what specs it comes with.
Design-wise, there’s nothing surprising. You get a 10.4-inch he TFT display, 2000 x 1200 resolution, and decent-sized bezels around the screen. The new Tab S6 Lite has an 8MP rear camera on the back and a 5MP selfie camera on the front hidden in the bezel. It comes in three colors: Oxford Grey, Chiffon Pink, and Mint, and an S Pen is included with the purchase of the tablet.
Samsung’s website does not provide any chipset details, instead stating that the 2024 Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is equipped with an “octa-core processor.” Previous leaks suggested Samsung’s own Exynos 1280 chip, which seems like a safe option. The base model also comes with his 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, which can be expanded with a microSD card. There’s also a 7,040mAh battery, 15 watts of wired charging, optional LTE connectivity, and even a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
There’s nothing ground-breaking about the specs, but the 2024 Galaxy Tab S6 Lite looks like a decent mid-range Android tablet product. If it’s Samsung do When the new 2024 model is released in the U.S., it should be quite affordable. The current 2022 model of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite launched for $349, but it’s now on sale for just $200. Assuming the 2024 Galaxy Tab S6 Lite launches in the US, we would expect it to cost the same $349 or close to it.
While Samsung has been quietly releasing Android tablets like it’s no big deal, we’re still waiting for Apple to release its first new iPad in over a year.
