One UI 6.0 update based on Android 14 is now available for Galaxy Tab A9+.The update includes the firmware version X216BXXU1BXA7 It is currently available in Caucasus countries, Indonesia, and the Philippines.In India, the same update is available for firmware version X216BXXU1BXA9.
This update also brings the December 2023 security patch, which fixes dozens of security vulnerabilities. This is a big update, so we recommend downloading it over a Wi-Fi network. The tablet may receive two more Android OS updates in the future.
Features of Galaxy Tab A9+ One UI 6.0
The One UI 6.0 update, based on Android 14, introduces a new quick panel layout, a new design language for emojis, a new lockscreen clock widget font option, and two new widgets: Custom Camera and Weather Insights. You can also change the arrangement of the clock widget on the lock screen.
Added new two-handed gesture to move files/items from one location to another. This gesture works in Calendar, Gallery, My Files, Home screen, and app drawer. The Gallery app has a new story. The built-in photo editor has a more accessible dial for editing controls. The built-in video editor is now called Samsung Studio and supports drafts and timelines.
Samsung has removed the terms Galaxy and Samsung from the names of Samsung stock apps. There is a new media player widget that appears on the lock screen and notification area. The appearance of notifications has been slightly updated, and notification icons now look more vibrant. You can sort notifications by time.
Pop-up windows now remain open when you open the multitasking screen and return to the normal screen. The Galaxy Tab A9+ now works with the Windows Phone Link app on computers running Windows OS. Its features allow you to check notifications, use apps, and transfer files to and from your PC.
The camera app now has a simpler UI, making it easier to scan documents. You can cut out objects/subjects from images and save them as stickers. The built-in video player’s UI has been enhanced with better control over playback speed. The weather app has more information and improved illustrations.
Samsung Health has improved the home screen and custom cup size options. The Reminders app home screen has also been improved, and reminders now appear in the Calendar app. Samsung Internet now allows you to play videos in the background and has improved tab display. The Modes and Routines app has more options and conditions. Samsung Pass now supports passkeys.
Airplane mode is now smarter, remembering whether you want Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on or off when you activate Airplane mode. The Battery section can now be entered directly from the Settings app home screen. We’ve also added more accessibility features.
