A recent study measuring the rush index within the community suggests that people in Alicante live in a hurry.
Hurry, defined as the need or desire to do something urgently, looks set to become a lifestyle in 2024.
The nuances of life
Many people get caught up in a constant cycle of activity, rushing from task to task without pausing to appreciate the details and nuances of life.
Cervezas Alhambra conducted its first Rush Index study for Spain and revealed that the Rush Index for the Valencian Region is 6.4 out of 10.
This shows that more than half of Valencians feel that the pace of their lives is faster than they would like and that they are unable to fully enjoy the present moment.
Everyday life
60 percent of respondents believe that most people don’t appreciate the small details of everyday life.
For many people in the Valencian Region, busyness is even encroaching on their free time, with 55 percent feeling rushed during their leisure time.
Additionally, 53 percent of participants feel most rushed during the early morning hours.
Changing attitudes
Slow lifestyle expert Ana Gonzalez emphasizes that a change in attitude is essential to combat the hectic pace of life.
She suggests incorporating mindfulness into daily practices, helping people fully engage with each moment and appreciate life with all five senses.
This change in focus adds an extra quality to each day.
