Battery life has long been a selling point for the iPhone, and yet Apple continues to strive to improve the formula every year. Recent reports point out that the iPhone 16 Pro has increased in size, jumping from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches, resulting in upgraded internals to accommodate it, including battery life for the next-generation iPhone.
The latest report comes from South Korean site Naver, where user yeux1122 posted about the changes in the iPhone 16 Pro. They claim that the new phone has larger bezels than the Samsung Galaxy S24, making the increase in size less noticeable compared to previous iPhones.
The increase in size may feel subtle in the hand, but it will give Apple an opportunity to beef up the internals. A larger battery pack means iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will have longer battery life, potentially exceeding 30 hours for the first time. That said, while previous reports stated that battery capacity has increased by only 5%, Apple typically employs software tricks to extend battery life beyond what the written specs suggest. I am.
The report also notes that with the larger frame size, Apple may improve the phone’s optical zoom capabilities. That could mean a Tetra Prism 5x telephoto camera system on the 2023 iPhone 15 Pro Max. Other rumors point to up to 8GB of RAM and a streamlined titanium case design that would be easier and cheaper to manufacture than current devices.
