WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — Kids from all over Texas showed off their science shop Friday in hopes of taking home a victory and advancing to the next level of competition.
The Red River Regional Science and Engineering Fair hosted children in grades 3-12 at Midwest State University on Friday, February 16th.
Although students competed in categories such as life sciences, physical sciences, and engineering, the range of problems the projects aimed to solve extended far beyond these three categories.
“We have everything [from] Things like finding out if someone has kidney disease, how to make slime and how slime is useful around the house, the best ways to treat different fungi, and the best ways to clean.”Science said Jessica Mitchell, president of the & Engineering Fair. “As you can imagine, we have a project going on here around that.”
The top projects from this competition will be able to compete at the International Science and Technology Fair in Los Angeles this May.
The other winners will advance to the state tournament at Texas A&M in College Station.
The Red River Science and Technology Fair is also seeking funds to send the winners to Los Angeles. You can donate to RRRSEF here.
