Rant & Rave: Readers fed up with shopping carts blocking bike racks

abusive language A shopper parks an empty shopping cart in front of a bicycle rack. Just walk an extra 15 yards and park with the rest of the carts. Need help? Please listen to me for a moment. Feeling lazy or in a hurry? The cart will be left in the store, so there is no need to take it home. Blocking your bike rack is the wrong choice among many right choices.

rave McPherson’s Fruit and Produce Stand on Beacon Hill is set to reopen. Please take advantage of our precious local fresh food resources.

abusive language To restaurant workers who let customers wrap their own leftovers. I worked as a server for years, but I never would have dreamed of doing that work for a customer. That’s what the server is for. If you want good tips, give good service. I would like to tip more, but I have to earn the tips.

rave Thank you to our wonderful neighbors in Broadview who spent hours helping us search for a lost dog that ran into our yard while being walked on a leash. After a long night of searching, they found him with his head stuck in a small hole in the fence. We are so grateful that he returned home safely.

abusive language In a commercial for a new, disgusting “body-body” deodorant. Keep that between you and your doctor, right? Or anyone who wants to know about your problem. But please, not me.

rave To the two Good Samaritans who came to my rescue the other day in the South Seattle QFC parking lot. I lost my balance, tripped, and fell. Thank you so much for coming to make sure I was okay, buying ice for my injury, and coming into the store to replace my spilled Starbucks drink. It’s so nice to know that despite all the bad news about South Seattle, there are still kind, helpful people who care about their neighbors. Thank you both!

abusive language Digital coupons and shopping ads inherently discriminate against older people, many of whom are unable or unwilling to go digital, but with fixed incomes they certainly benefit from lower prices. Can receive.

rave Go to Evergreen Health Lakeshore Clinic to examine the rabbit-eared skeleton outside the X-ray department. It’s nice to have a little Easter humor in the mundane and often serious task of visiting the doctor. Thank you for the smile!

abusive language To the young people I see every day running as fast as they can in between cars. It’s time to grow up and stop focusing on yourself and what you find fun. Please join humanity with consideration for those around you.

rave I recently sent a letter and form to my 92-year-old husband asking him to send in his signature so that officials can verify his signature on the ballot and ensure his vote is counted in future elections. It was addressed to the King County Elections Office, which requested the request. They explained how each of our signatures can change over time. Long live these hardworking officials.
