REDMOND, Ore. (KTVZ) — Hundreds of professional and amateur BMX riders will be donning helmets to compete in the USA BMX Great Northwest Nationals competition this weekend at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds.
The race begins on Friday and continues through Sunday.
Kelsey McGee will be on hand Saturday to speak with race organizers and learn more about the event. She also talks to some of the competitors to find out how they started racing. Her reports will be broadcast on her NewsChannel 21 at Six.

Hundreds of professional and amateur BMX riders from around the world will descend on Redmond this weekend, April 12-14, for the USA BMX Great Northwest Nationals.
The three-day event will be held at the First Interstate Bank Center located at 3800 SW Airport Way in Redmond, Oregon. Racing begins at 1:30pm Friday, 9am Saturday, and 8am Sunday, with athletes continuing into the evening. Parking is $10 per day for him, and fans can watch and cheer as their favorite riders expertly maneuver jumps, twists and turns along the track.
The USA BMX Great Northwest Nationals has been a staple in Central Oregon since 2008, and Joanna Eisler, director of business development for Visit Central Oregon, said they are excited to host the event for the 16th time. Ta.
