Fastmarket’s offer is open to market participants who want to know regional reference prices for lithium in the US and Canada, reflecting the evolution of the regional battery supply chain and new market trends arising from the enactment of US anti-inflation laws. This is based on initial feedback from participants. (IRA) Act.
The landmark IRA bill signed into law in 2022 is expected to change the flow of trade and potentially create separate prices for IRA-compliant and non-IRA-compliant materials.
Fastmarkets was the first price reporting agency to launch spot price assessments for battery-grade and technical-grade lithium hydroxide and lithium carbonate for the US and Europe. Price history for these markets is available going back to 2017.
Lithium hydroxide monohydrate LiOH.H2O 56.5% LiOH min, battery grade, spot price, fast market evaluation for China, Japan, Korea, and lithium carbonate 99.5% Li2CO3 min, battery grade, spot price, China , Japan, and South Korea are the underlying payment mechanisms for cash-settled contracts available from CME Group, London Metal Exchange, and Singapore Exchange.
The proposed specifications for the revised European price assessment, which do not include the US footprint, are as follows:

The consultation period for these proposals will be 45 days from the date of this pricing notice, Monday, February 12, to Thursday, March 28, on which date updates to this notice will be published.
