David Preusse announced that he is stepping down as president of Wittmann USA and will be succeeded in the role by Sonny Morneault, vice president of sales for NPE in Orlando, Florida, effective May 2024. Mr. Preuss, who has served as president since 2002, will transition to a part-time business development role at the company.

“My friendship with David Preuss dates back to February 1996, when I was general manager of Whitman Robotics & Automation in the United States,” said Whitman. “Our chemistry was immediate, and I hired him as sales manager. David quickly grew our sales and market share, and when I returned to Austria in 2002, he became president. He has successfully expanded our business in all aspects over the years, and this year, Wittmann USA will become our top-selling manufacturer. Overtaking Germany’s Wittmann and reaching the world. is a great accomplishment. We wish him all the best in his new part-time role with the company,” said Wittman.
“I am pleased to announce that Sonny Morneau will become president of Whitman USA in May 2024,” Whitman added. “Sonny has been truly respected by the team as a sales leader for the company over the past few years, and I am confident he will do a great job in the future as David succeeds us at the company.”
Mr. Morneau joined Whitman in 2007 as product manager for dryers and rose through the ranks to become vice president of sales for Whitman USA in 2015. During that time, Morneau increased Whitman USA’s overall sales by 30%, according to the statement.
Preuss said handing over leadership of Wittmann USA to Morneault is an ideal transition for the company and its customers. “I leave Whitman USA in Sony’s capable hands. He knows who we are and what we are good at, and he is excited about our tremendous growth. He has earned this promotion after 17 years here,” Preuss said.
Jason Long, who has served as national sales manager for Wittmann USA’s Robotics and Automation division since 2017, will succeed Morneau as vice president of sales.
