Dallas police are searching for Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Lachie Rice as part of an open investigation into a possible hit-and-run crash, the Dallas Morning News reported Saturday.
Dallas Police Department spokeswoman Kristin Lowman outlined the accident to USA TODAY Sports. According to the summary, the multi-vehicle crash occurred around 6:25 p.m. local time on the North Central Expressway north of Dallas. Police determined that the two drivers of the Corvette and Lamborghini were “speeding in the far left lane,” after which the driver lost control and the Lamborghini veered off the road and struck the median. That caused a “cascading collision” involving four other cars.
“All occupants of the Lamborghini and Corvette fled the scene without stopping or providing information to determine if anyone required medical assistance,” according to a police summary.
Police added that two drivers were treated at the scene for minor injuries, and two passengers from another vehicle were taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Police also said that “the investigation and identification of the suspect is ongoing.”

A man who was driving on the highway Saturday sent dashcam footage to The Dallas Morning News on Sunday. In the clip, a Corvette and a Lamborghini speed past on the left before the Lamborghini appears to be wearing white Hyundai Accent. The Corvette collided with the van, causing the van to spin out. Three people appear to get out of the Lamborghini and walk away.
Rice, 23, was named as the suspect driver of the Corvette, according to the Morning News, which obtained a copy of the police report.
As of noon ET Sunday, Rice was not registered at the Dallas County Jail.
Rice was born in Philadelphia, but hails from North Richland Hills, a suburb west of Dallas. Mr. Rice played football at Richland High School and later played college at Southern Methodist University, which is located about a mile from the scene of the car accident.
As a rookie with Kansas City in 2023, Rice caught 79 passes for 938 yards and seven touchdowns, becoming a key piece of the Chiefs’ offense as they marched toward a Super Bowl championship. Rice was second on the team in receptions and yards during the regular season behind tight end Travis Kelce, and led the team in total receiving touchdowns.
