The secretariat of the Pacific Islands Academy of Sciences and Humanities will be based in Samoa.
The Academy was established as an independent, not-for-profit, non-governmental organization that hopes to “enhance and coordinate the voices of science and other forms of knowledge in the Pacific region.”
The new academy is expected to be officially launched in time for the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Samoa in October.
