TL;DR
- The Assistant on your Pixel phone deletes all alarms instead of turning them off.
- This bug does not seem to affect other Android smartphones.
Something strange is happening with the alarm on your Pixel phone. A bug causes Google Assistant to delete all alarms on your Pixel phone when you ask it to “Turn off all alarms.” Ideally, such a command would just disable all active alarms. Instead, the Assistant permanently deletes any saved alarms, regardless of how many alarms you set.
This problem was first brought to our attention by Artem Russakovskii. Posted Regarding issues encountered with Pixel 8 Pro. We did further research to see if the bug existed on any of his other Pixel or non-Pixel smartphones. I found that telling the Assistant to turn off all alarms deletes all saved alarms on the Pixel 7 series as well as the Pixel 8 series. I don’t have any other older Pixels on hand, but it’s entirely possible that this issue affects all Pixels.
I gave the same voice commands to Google Assistant on my OPPO Find X5 and Xiaomi smart speaker, but the devices retained the saved alarms. Therefore, this issue currently appears to only occur on Pixel devices.
Another user on X (formerly Twitter) Confirmed He first noticed the issue on his Pixel smartphone two months ago.
Contact Google for clarification of the situation. Until then, don’t tell the Assistant on your Pixel phone or linked smart speaker to turn off all alarms.
