Now that Google’s Find My Device network is available to everyone, we’re learning more and more about how it works. In the announcement, the company talked about how Pixel 8 devices can leverage the network even when powered off. That’s good news, as this feature will be coming to other devices in the future.

Google is working with other Android and chip makers to make the Find My Device network even more powerful

In a conversation with Android Authority, Google confirmed that this feature will indeed be coming to other devices. For those who don’t know, the Pixel 8 series comes with special hardware that powers the Bluetooth chip inside the device even when the battery is dead or turned off. and Google is now encouraging other Android manufacturers to start using this hardware. Because they use the same hardware, the Find My Device network can be even stronger on these devices than before.

“We are working with other SOCs and OEMs on how we can bring the ability to find devices with a dead battery to additional premium Android devices,” a Google representative told the publication. Told.

This means that flagship phones scheduled to feature next-generation hardware may support the ability to be detected even when powered off. This is certainly helpful for those who want to ensure a way to always find their device. This feature was already available on some iPhones before Google’s Find My Device network made this possible, but it’s good to see this feature start rolling out to other his Android devices as well.

Unfortunately, Google was tight-lipped about the feature when asked by sources, so we don’t know if existing Pixel devices will have it, aside from the latest Pixel devices, but it’s a good idea. There’s still a lot of news to come. We’ve been waiting for something like this “Find My Device” network feature to arrive, and now it’s time.

Now, we understand that many people may have concerns about Google’s “Find My Device” network, but the company has confirmed that everything about participating users is stored securely and there is no way to find their device. We have highlighted several ways to do so. Retrieve a person’s identity through the network. Additionally, this is completely voluntary and if you wish to opt out of the program, you can do so without any problem.
