More than 4,000 items of cultural significance, including textiles, pottery and clothing, were repatriated to their country of origin, Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced Wednesday that 4,600 cultural objects from the United States and European countries including Germany, Italy and Switzerland have been returned to the South American country.
Peru’s Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Foreign Affairs decided to work with local governments, consulates and embassies in the countries where the items were found to bring them back to Peru, the statement said.
