Ahead of today’s launch of the long-awaited Android Find My Device network, Pebblebee and Chipolo announced trackers designed for the network. But now that shipping is nearing, Pebblebee has quietly increased the price of the tracker.
Pebblebee offers three trackers for the Android Find My Device network. Tags, cards, and clips all functionally do the same thing, but there are some differences.
The Tag is a compact rectangular tracker that is said to last eight months on a single charge. It also has a built-in LED. The Card, on the other hand, lasts up to 18 months on a single charge, is rechargeable, and features a design roughly the same size as a credit card. Finally, the “Clip” is the smallest of the group with a circular design, 12-month battery life, and a keychain loop on the top.
Initially, all three trackers were priced at $29.99, but Pebblebee quietly increased the prices of its “tags” and “cards” on April 8th as Google announced the rollout of its Find My Device network. did. The new price is $34.99, an increase of $5 from the previous price. “Clip” is still $29.99.
We observed that prices changed in the 24 hours leading up to Google’s announcement.
Pebblebee confirmed the price change and also confirmed: 9to5Google Customers who pre-ordered tags and cards in the past few months will not have to pay extra for the tracker. This new price applies only to new purchases made from today onwards.
Chipolo, another brand that offers trackers compatible with Google’s network, sells the “One Point,” a version of Pebblebee’s “Clip,” for $28. Meanwhile, the “One Card” sells for $35. Chipolo and Pebblebee both offer discounts when you buy multiple trackers at the same time.
Pebblebee says its trackers will begin shipping in late May.
