Getting a perfect screenshot from a video hasn’t always been the easiest task on desktop or mobile. You can always use the regular screenshot tools on either platform, but I didn’t always get a clean output without menus or player controls appearing unless I cropped out a significant portion of the image. Fortunately, this issue has been somewhat fixed on desktop, and an Android solution appears to be in the works.

However, recent code updates indicate that Google will soon be able to save video frames directly from YouTube to Android devices. This was also discovered by the same user in another commit in the Chromium Gerrit repository called “Mark video frame copy/save functionality disabled on Android”, which explains: “These features are not yet implemented on Android. “Not scheduled. Scheduled.” If you are ready to implement it, mark it as disabled until you are ready to launch it. ”
This indicates that plans are afoot to bring this useful tool to Android, but there is no clear indication of how it will be implemented. Since YouTube has its own dedicated app on Android, my guess is that it will be part of the interface, typically added as an option within the video settings to choose playback speed and video quality. . However, this is just speculation as no screenshots have been released at this time.
