MIC deputy president Datuk Sri M Saravanan has announced that he will not challenge current president Tan Sri SA Vigneswaran for the party leadership position. Malaysian South report.
Saravanan confirmed this at a press conference announcing the dates for candidate nominations and party elections scheduled for March 27 and April 12.
Vigneswaran’s term as president ends on May 25, but he has served in the position since July 2018.
Saravanan said MIC’s asset holdings had increased the most during Vigneswaran’s tenure as president since the late Tun S. Sami Velu. His presidency has the full support of the entire party and party leaders have collectively decided not to run for the post, he added.
Three YouTubers from Tamil Nadu, India, have been arrested for performing a stunt in which they set alight a lake and then jumped into it. Makar Osai report.
The three – Ranjit Bhalla, 23, Sivakumar, 19, and Isakhiraja, 19 – are believed to have poured petrol on the lake, set the fuel on fire and jumped into the lake while filming the stunt for their social media channels.
The stunt took place near a pump house, from which the men reportedly jumped into the lake.
The act infuriated YouTube users as it could have polluted the lake and damaged the pump, and the three men were arrested and charged in court.
