Congressional Republican leaders are considering measures to reverse President Biden’s recent decision to suspend new approvals for liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facilities, but the latest science shows that LNG could be disastrous for climate stability. It is proven that it has an impact. New research by renowned climate scientist Dr. Robert Howarth shows that LNG is at least 24% more of a source of climate emissions than coal.

In December, 170 climate scientists, including Dr. Howarth and Dr. Sandra Steingraber, sent a letter to President Biden calling for a permanent halt to approvals of new LNG export facilities across the United States.
