New RNC memo details merger with Trump campaign

Members of the Republican National Committee received a three-page memo from Chairman Michael Whatley announcing and explaining various aspects of the merger between the RNC and the Trump campaign.

The memo arrived days after former President Donald Trump secured the Republican nomination and nearly a week after his handpicked team took office.

“In accordance with tradition and in compliance with applicable law, the RNC is integrating its operations with the Trump campaign. We are now a unified operation and a united front,” Whatley wrote.

On March 8, Whatley and the former president’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, were elected unopposed to replace the outgoing chair and co-chair. The memo highlights important priorities for the committee, including a focus on allegations of election fraud.

“Our election integrity priorities this term include extensive efforts over the coming months to challenge the voter identification and signature verification rules put in place for the 2020 election. “The RNC’s new stance on this lawsuit will be an aggressive and aggressive effort to make voting easier and fraud harder,” Whatley wrote.

Trump himself was drawn to the support of Whatley, a former North Carolina Republican Party chairman, in part because of his focus on his work and claims of election fraud, CNN previously reported.

The memo also announced Whatley’s hire, including the appointment of a new attorney to focus on election fraud claims. This comes days after the RNC began laying off dozens of staffers. The cuts, which include executives in communications, politics and data teams, are more than normal and highlight the commission’s lackluster fundraising efforts.

Whatley’s Notes The RNC also said it plans to maintain its community center and Bank Your Vote program.

The RNC says it will “focus on organizing communities that are not traditionally Republican to highlight the failed policies of the Biden administration.” As you may know, we have no intention of closing our community center. We are actively pursuing programs that maximize our opportunities to expand our base and engage with Americans by leveraging all existing tools for voters to cast their ballots,” Whatley wrote. Ta.

Whatley also said the RNC has entered into a co-funding agreement with the Trump campaign and introduced a data liaison to work with other Republican committees and state parties.

“Our great RNC co-chair Lara Trump and I have no illusions about the path ahead. We must work tirelessly every day. Within our organization, We need to make sure that all our money is spent on one thing: winning. We won a seat in the House, we won a seat in the Senate, and we won the presidency,” Whatley wrote.
