New Jersey Multicultural Business Expo and Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards, June 25

The New Jersey Business Immigration Coalition and the Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce will present a free statewide multicultural business expo featuring exhibits and awards highlighting culturally diverse entrepreneurship, as well as food and live entertainment.

The event, taking place at Pines Manor in Edison on Tuesday, June 25, will kick off with the annual Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards Ceremony from 4:00-5:00pm, followed by a business expo from 5:00-8:00pm.

There is no admission fee, you can enjoy the festivities, network with multicultural business owners, and meet potential customers. Businesses interested in sponsorship opportunities or hosting an exhibition to promote their services or showcase their products, please learn more. here.

The Immigrant Entrepreneur Awards were established by the New Jersey Business Immigration Coalition and its founding partners, including the New Jersey Business and Industry Association. The 2024 recipients include immigrant entrepreneurs from Kosovo, Taiwan, Jordan, the Philippines and Germany who are making a difference in New Jersey.

  • Immigrant Entrepreneur of the Year Award: Jordan Hu, founder and CEO of RiskVal Financial Solutions, LLC, a Princeton-based multimillion-dollar company that makes products used on trading desks at banks across North America.
  • Immigrant Entrepreneur Lifetime Achievement Award: Dieter Weissenrieder, founder and CEO of Weiss-Aug Group, a precision metal stamping company based in East Hanover.
  • Albert Einstein Innovation Award: Dr. Shihab Kuran is a global semiconductor, power and clean technology investor, serial entrepreneur and executive who currently serves as President and CEO of Power Edison, which is building the nation’s largest EV charging superhub in Kearney.
  • Kaspar Wistar Prize for GrowthLeo Alquiros is the owner and head chef of Tropical Hut Filipino Cuisine, a network of six Filipino restaurants and grocery stores in New Jersey and New York. Alquiros opened his first restaurant in Old Bridge in 1999.
  • David Sarnoff Award for Advocacy and Community Engagement: Brim Nimon Rejai immigrated to the United States from Kosovo at age 19 and now has a successful career in the restaurant industry and property management. Brim’s philanthropic efforts include chairing the Homeless Veterans Fund with six area Rotary clubs and fundraising efforts for the rehabilitation of the Westfield American Legion Post and YMCA. He serves on the boards of directors of the Downtown Westfield Corporation, the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club of Westfield. He also serves as executive director of the nonprofit Council on Albanian-American Relations in Washington, DC and New York City.
